Introducing: The Knitalong Hub!

It may have seemed a bit quiet around here lately, but that’s because there has been a lot happening behind the scenes! We’ve been in the midst of an office move and beavering away on a special collection (more on that soon) as well as our next Big Book (you’ll have to wait a little longer to hear about that …). In between all these things, we’ve also been at work on a project that I’m super excited to share with you today: a brand new, all-our-very-own forum space: The Knitalong Hub!

Our knitalongs are really at the centre of what we do. Whether it’s knitting together through monthly projects to grow our knitting confidence, diving into a special collection or just casually “chatting” and sharing what happens to be on our needles, we love hosting a virtual gathering place for knitters to come together and cheer each other on. We strive to make sure that anyone who wants to take part in one of our knitalongs can, and we feel that having our own corner of the internet for our community is an important next step in achieving this aim.

So, what can you expect from The Knitalong Hub?

The Knitalong Hub is a fairly classic online forum that’s completely free to join. In the forum, you’ll find areas for news and updates from A-C Knitwear HQ, for our current knitalongs, for discussing patterns and projects from all of our books, as well as for general chat in the Members’ Lounge. The Members’ Lounge is a special area of the forum — topics within it will are visible only to members, so this is the place for chat of a more personal nature (though it’s important to remember that anyone can register and create an account).

We also know that, whether you’re coming over from our Ravelry group, or joining in our online community for the first time, there might be a bit of a learning curve (though we do think the new forums are pretty user friendly!). So we’ll be sharing some how-to posts in the coming weeks, with plenty of screenshots, to help you get your bearings. If you do have specific questions or topics you’d like covered, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either by using the Help! thread (posts there are only visible once you are logged in) or using our Contact Form.

Door prizes…

To welcome you in, we will be drawing some door prizes as we hit milestones for members of The Knitalong Hub. We have a lucky dip of delicious knitting-related treats to give away! And we are well on the way to the first one, so do sign up! The early birds get the best choice of usernames, as well as more chances of a door prize, so get in there!

What will we knit?

We have a new knitalong planned, and we’ll tell you more about that tomorrow, but for now, do head over to The Knitalong Hub, set up an account and start chatting.
