Well that was fun!
Our official Something to Knit Together KAL ended a few weeks ago, and while many of us (raises hand) are still knitting along, it’s time to have a peek at what we knitted together this summer!
First, a few numbers! By my count, we collectively cast on a whopping 90 projects (number of projects cast on from the ebook patterns + other projects using the Something to Knit Together tag on Ravelry). There were twelve KAL prizes awarded, four hours of Zoom knitting chats, 1,563 forum posts (and counting!) and goodness knows how many metres of yarn knitted. This knitalong was all about staying connected in challenging times, and knitting some gorgeous designs in the process, and on both of those counts, I think it was a resounding success! Now let’s take a look at some projects!
The Togetherness Shawl was the final pattern in Sarah Hatton’s fabulous capsule collection, and it’s been fun to see these two-colour beauties emerge from people’s needles. Here’s a lovely shot of Debi’s completed wrap:

The other shawl from the collection is, of course, the Bonhomie Wrap, the pattern that got us all started! I love Debby’s version in Strawberry … such a cheerful wrap to brighten winter evenings!

The Camaraderie Hat is the smallest project in the collection, and there have been lots of lovely finished hats! I love seeing how the lace and texture pattern shows up in different yarns. The pattern really pops in Ruth’s DK version…

There are also a couple of lovely Conviviality Cardigans underway. I love this shot of Ann’s WIP … cardi knitting at the beach sounds like JUST the thing!

One of a knitalong’s joys is seeing the different adaptations people make to the patterns. McBrenda’s Bonhomie Wrap in laceweight linen, for instance, brilliantly shows how yarn choice can completely change the look and feel of a pattern:

And Melanie has transformed the Togetherness Shawl into a scarf, removing the need to keep track of shaping — gorgeous!
