Closing off the toe of a sock, the tops of mittens, or even sections of a blanket needn't be a hassle. Kitchener Stitch neatly grafts two sets of stitches together, but has a reputation amongst some knitters for being fiddly and easy to get wrong. Our advice: take it slowly at first and get into the rhythm of the process and anyone (even Jim!) can get to grips with this essential technique.
